LV RETROSPECTIVE

"Louis Vuitton plans to make a splash during Milan Fashion Week next month by unveiling an expanded store on Via Montenapoleone, plus an exhibition at the Triennale paying tribute to the fashions of Marc Jacobs, Vuitton’s artistic director since 1997. Slated to be unveiled Sept. 21, the revamped store by architect Peter Marino is to feature Vuitton’s first “travel room” in Europe — dedicated to luggage and travel accessories — and exclusive made-to-order services for men’s shoes and women’s handbags. The exhibition, meanwhile, curated by stylist and editor Katie Grand, is to feature her edit of more than 70 ready-to-wear seasons under Jacobs’ purview. Running from Sept. 22 to Oct. 9, the showcase is bound to perceived as a retrospective tribute." [via]

"Photographer Sølve Sundsbø and stylist Katie Grand team up once again for the September issue of Vogue Italia. This time, the two capture Daphne Groeneveld in archived pieces from Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs. All the pieces appear in “Louis Vuitton: The Art of Fashion”, an exhibition curated by Grand. With over ten years of Jacobs at the helm of the fashion house, the standout designs feature references ranging from grunge to mod style." [via]
