JULIA BERECIARTU ♥

" My name is Julia Bereciartu. I was born in San Sebastian, Spain, in 1980. Since I was a little girl my biggest love was painting and drawing, even using black markers in my mum's new couch. In 2003 I moved to Madrid, and after several years working as a graphic designer, I decided it was time to pursue my biggest childood dream. Now I work as a freelance illustrator for clients all over the world, and I'm lucky enough to say that I love what I do.
I work from my cozy home studio, with the help of my crazy orange kitten Maggie. I'm a compulsive knitter, and I love photography, specially Polaroid and medium format film. And I spend way too much of my spare time riding my bike, cooking and watching movies. You can find more news and inspiration bits in my Blog and Tumblr.
Contact me at julia (at) juliabe (dot) com for commissions or whatever else you may want to ask.
Clients include: American Girl, Djeco, Magnard, , Today's Parent Magazine, Teaching Tolerance magazine, Moo.com, Marchand des Feuilles, Lürzer's Archive, Fnac, Ono, Cuatro, Multiópticas, N.E.E.T. Magazine. " [via]

COVERS BY JOH-PAUL THURLOW

"London based Artist John-Paul Thurlow is attempting to recreate cover art for every great magazine he owns (+ a few he wishes he owned). “It’s never a straight crib, the source magazines are a jumping-off point for my imagination…” A pretty cool concept and pretty refined drawing skills!" EMILY WINFIELD MARTIN

"Emily Winfield Martin makes paintings, books, and other things. She is the author and illustrator of a paper doll epic called "The Black Apple's Paper Doll Primer" (Potter Craft, 2010) and an illustrated novel for children, "Oddfellow's Orphanage" (Random House, 2012). When she was small, she spent every moment drawing, reading, dressing rabbits in fancy clothes, and having many peculiar daydreams. When she grew up, she began to illustrate those peculiar daydreams, and in 2005, she created a cottage industry called The Black Apple, which sells all manner of art and etceteras. She works in a tiny nook of a studio filled with old children's books, wind-up toys, and stacks of fabric. Her work is inspired by fairy tales, carnivals, vintage children's clothing, her favorite films, and autobiography. She likes to bake, hunt for old treasures and tend her flower garden. She has a BFA from the University of Georgia, where she studied photography, painting and English literature. She lives and works among the giant fir trees of Portland, OR with her fellow adventurer, Josiah, and their darling rotten cat, Miette." [via]
